Media XI edged out Administrators XI by three wickets in the exciting final to win the Tata Steel Invitation Cricket Tournament here at East Coast Railway ground in Bhubaneswar today. The day-long event, also featuring Legislators XI and Tata XI, turned out to be nice occasion for politicians, bureaucrats, mediamen and corporate executives to test their cricketing skill and develop friendship.
Earlier in the semifinals, Media XI crushed Tata XI by 62 runs, while Administrators XI trounced Legistors XI by 10 wickets. Media XI skipper and former National selector Ranjib Biswal was adjudged the man of the tournament. Subhranshu Padhy, Arun Kumar Sahoo and Manoj Chhabra bagged the prizes as man of the final, best fielder and best bowler respectively. Tata Steel vice-president B K Singh gave away the trophy at the closing function.
